|Dr. Kawamoto earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University in 2007. He has served as a researcher at the Tokyo Institute of Technology since 2007, as a specially appointed assistant professor at Tokyo Tech since 2008, and as a specially appointed lecturer at CoSTEP since 2013. Recently, his enthusiasm for LEGO has returned.

|Dr. Kawamoto has primarily been involved in science writing programs at CoSTEP. He is also developing a writing workshop from the perspective of science communication. His current interest is in dual-use issues related to science and technology. Using concepts and images in trans-disciplinary research, Dr. Kawamoto aims to describe gaps and interactions between various actors.
