 北海道大学は、日本初の高等教育機関、「札幌農学校」として、1876年に創設されました。北大は、初代教頭・クラーク博士の教えを受け継ぎ、「フロンティア精神」「国際性の涵養」「全人教育」「実学の重視」という４つの理念を掲げています。それぞれについて詳しくご紹介します。

Hokkaido University was founded in 1876 as Sapporo Agricultural College — the first institute of higher education in Japan. Following in the footsteps of its first Vice Principal Dr. William S. Clark, Hokkaido University upholds four specific philosophies, "Frontier spirit", "Global perspectives", "All-round education" and "Practical learning". We introduce each philosophy in detail.
